We invite you to join a growing community of Christian educators who are shaping tomorrow’s leaders with wisdom, faith, and academic excellence!

Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions a family makes, not simply because it determines where a child will spend several hours each day, but because it helps shape who that child becomes. A school is more than a building or a curriculum. It is a community of influences—teachers, peers, values, expectations, and routines—that quietly but powerfully guide a student’s growth.
Parents often feel the weight of this choice because they understand that education touches every part of a child’s life. The right environment can spark curiosity, build confidence, and help a student discover strengths they didn’t know they had. The wrong environment can do the opposite, leaving children feeling unseen, discouraged, or disconnected.
A Christian school nurtures an environment where every learner is seen as uniquely created in the image of God, gifted with potential and called to a life of significance. Academic subjects are taught through a biblical lens, helping students understand that all truth is God’s truth—whether they are exploring mathematics, literature, science, or the arts. This holistic approach strengthens critical thinking, fosters curiosity, and encourages students to view their studies as part of God’s larger story.
Christian schools also prepare young people to engage meaningfully with society. Grounded in a biblical worldview, students learn to approach challenges with courage and hope, recognising that their gifts can bring restoration and impact to families, communities, and the nation. They are trained to lead with wisdom, work with excellence, and serve with Christlike love.
In Zimbabwe’s dynamic context, Christian education is a vital investment in the future. It nurtures resilient, principled, and spiritually grounded young people who can contribute positively to every sphere of life—education, business, ministry, science, the arts, and beyond. By partnering with families and churches, Christian schools help raise a generation that knows God, seeks truth, and lives with purpose.
At ACSI Zimbabwe, we are committed to supporting schools in this mission—strengthening leadership, enriching teaching, and fostering unity within the Christian education community. Together, we champion an educational vision that transforms hearts and minds for God’s glory and for the good of our nation.
Ultimately, selecting a school is an act of hope. It is a family’s way of saying, “We believe in your future, and we want to place you in a setting that helps you grow into the person you are meant to be.” For many families, Christian schooling offers that place—where faith and learning come together to shape hearts, minds, and futures.
Although South Africa hosted the first three ACSI Africa Roundtable conferences, over two decades, this was the first time that countries with a specific focus on Southern Africa were able to engage with each other. It brought together educators to focus on aligning the Church, schools and family together to advance Christ-centered education. The main objective of the gathering was to focus on implementing contextually the declaration that was signed by thirty nations of the continent at the African Roundtable 2023 in Kigali, Rwanda, with the theme of “Envisioning the Church and Christian Education Together for Africa by 2050”.
The vision and mission is to inspire and equip the Church, schools and the family to educate Africa’s sons and daughters for holistic Christ-centered education which will prepare them for life. There were more than one hundred delegates representing about ten countries such as Zimbabwe; Mauritius; Lesotho; Namibia; Zambia; Mozambique; South Africa; and Kenya. My take at this conference was to address as a matter of urgency the lack of Biblical worldview and integration in education, and insufficient parental and Church involvement.
A roadmap was crafted to enable us to implement the vision and mission of bringing together the Church, families and schools.
The speakers at this conference were outstanding.
Dr. Sosthene Maletoungou, who is currently the Africa Director for ACSI, spoke on the topic, ‘The Power of our Stories and our Vision of Education’. He based his talk on Psalm 78:1-7 with the emphasis on a biblical foundation for Holistic education.
The second speaker was Namibia. Dr. Shirley Magazi spoke on the role of the Church in education – based on the scripture Matthew 28:19-20. She emphasized that the core of the Church mandate is education.
The third speaker, Mr. Afrika Mhlophe, spoke on, ‘Securing the Next Generation’. He emphasized that although the world has and continues to evolve, our calling as Christians has not changed. We are still expected to transfer divine truths from one generation to the next – Psalm 78:4.
Dr. Susan Wandara from Kenya spoke on the subject, ‘Christian Teacher Education Pedagogical Strategies’. Her emphasis was that we should not separate the school from home and the Church.
The following were the questions raised by the speakers for discussion in our breakaway groups:
We came away both inspired and challenged. ACSI Zimbabwe remains deeply committed to strengthening the vital relationship between school, parents, and the church as we continue our mission to support academic excellence and inspire students to become devoted followers of Christ.
If you are interested in partnering with us in this mission, we would love to hear from you. Please contact us at info@acsi.co.zw.

Dear Colleagues,
I wonder how many of us recognise that, as teachers in Christian schools, we are dealing with life and death issues.
Every single day that we lug that pile of unmarked books home for marking, which we once again have failed to complete, due to a parent/teacher interview that went on three times longer than it was scheduled to do or to some other reason, we are once again being put into a tight spot. Marking those books is simply not a priority in our lives and barely makes it onto our to-do list for today. We take out our timetable and run our finger down the margin, noting the class and the subject which would be affected. ‘4C’ is that class and the subject is Scripture. ‘4C’ is a small class of approximately 15 pupils who are also an academically challenged class containing children who need closer supervision with their learning difficulties. They are a class which will hardly feel the gentle ‘speed humps’ of not getting their work marked. The actual homework which they are waiting to get marked is all about the Ten Commandments.
We remember pointing out that the beginning of the rule of law in those days was the giving of that law by Moses to God’s people. How pleased they were! How conscious of the enormous privilege they were given to actually have God’s very words given to them. This was much more than any other nation had been given before. Moses’ final words to this people were, “Be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.” From the perspective of Moses, “The Lord commands us to obey all the decrees of the Lord and to fear the Lord our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, as is the case today.” If we are careful to obey all this law before the Lord our God as He has commanded that will be our righteousness. Those words, given by God, contain the gift of life itself. Those words of God literally kept God’s people alive and they still do so today.
We also recall that we wanted to share the Good News with our class that because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, our rightness with God is no longer dependent on keeping the law. Instead, God has promised to ‘write his words on our hearts’ and internalise them into our minds so that we won’t want to disobey Him. What a gift of life instead of the wages of sin – death!
The thought occurs to us that by not marking those books we could be denying ourselves the privilege of presenting the gospel to this class. Perhaps there’s a pupil whose situation at home is so bad that she needs to hear God’s promises of healing and life today. Another thought presents itself to us – If we can’t be bothered to mark those essays that our class has struggled hard to complete, it shows that we don’t value them and undermines any witness we might have. Are we intentional about being a living and breathing example to the children God has entrusted to our care? In other words, do our lives demonstrate that we actually believe what we say is true? We have the words of eternal life – are we going to keep them to ourselves?
What a privilege we have as Christian teachers, particularly in ACSI schools where we have boundless freedom to speak of the Truth in the classroom. My prayer is that we would not lose out on the joy of being God’s messengers to those whom Jesus was praying for when He said, “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.” (John 17:20-21)

Dear Colleagues,
“He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.” Psalm 121:3
God is a tireless worker. We think that we are workers in God’s life but the Bible wants us to know that God has been a worker in our lives long before we were workers in His.
“From ancient times no one has heard or no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who works for those who wait for him” (Isaiah 64:4) – not half the night, but the whole night without a break He is working for us around the clock! No day off, in fact He is so eager to work for us that He goes around looking for more work to do for people who will trust in Him!
“The eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.” (2 Chronicles 16:9) He worked for us when He was on the earth and keeps working now that He is risen and reigning with His Father in heaven. We are told that Jesus is seated at the right hand of God the Father, interceding for us all the time.
Christ worked for Paul all his life. At the very end of his life in his last letter Paul said, “The Lord stood by me and gave me strength to proclaim the message fully.” (2 Timothy 4:17) Through all his life Paul could say, “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13). Jesus is the great worker, the great strength-giver, He is pursuing us with goodness and mercy all our days. Note, that it says ‘pursues’, not just ‘follows. He is not just waiting for us to ask for His help, He is seeking ways to give us help. He is doing this with overflowing eagerness.
So, the next time you feel that your world is falling apart and you are overwhelmed, remind yourself that God will not abandon you to your circumstances but is working through them, and He will weave good things into your life.
